Dear Admins,

If I install the patch, it does not allow me to launch the game on Windows 8, if I dont install the Patch, then it says outdated client, blocked at this part of the day and I am kicked out,

I am in a fix,

What to do?

Can you excuse my patch, so that I can play all the time?

....did you try to run it with patch in Windows 7 compatibility mode?

Yes, i tried it as compatibility mode in Win 7, XP, and Vista, all of them, with and without admin previliges, but the file do not executes,

I was not aware of the -steam adding, if you adding it to this place:

"C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike.exe" -steam

then, i added it but still the same situation,

Is this possible for you to exclude me from patch restriction?

Then describe in details what is "does not allow me to launch", system takes mouse cursor away from shortcut or what? :unsure:

When I double click, the cursor shows busy sign for couple of seconds and then goes away without starting the game, I am having the same issue with couple of other softwares as well, I guess this might be a Windows 8 thing... well not sure...

By the way, this is wrong, starting program must be hl.exe
